- Types of mushrooms/products : Fresh / Dried / Processed – nutraceutical, functional food, finger food, health drinks
- Health Benefits: Need to emphasise the health benefits of eating fresh mushrooms
- Consumers: In Malaysia mushroom consumption is 324 gm/person/year compared to 2.5kg chicken /person/year (DOA and MAM 2005)
- Target: Aim to increase consumption to 2 kg/person/year -and this will spur an increase in production from 5 500 to 50 000 tonnes per year.
